Here's a shoutout to everybody who's looking forward to great times this New Year!
Bollywood was abuzz with activity over the end of the year, with our red carpet celebrities flaunting their fashionable best. There were the occasional moments of fashion faux pas as well! Here's a look at some of the interesting ensembles the leading ladies were decked with in recent times.
Strut around in stripes
All it takes is a glance at Chitrangda Singh at the Maxim cover launch to realise that stripes are in! Inspired by French sailor uniforms, nautical stripes are timeless and fashionable. It looks like India's celebrities are definitely waking up to it. Chitrangda looked absolutely charming in a sharp black Gauri and Nainika dress. This dress features a striped bodice, a solid black fall and a belt as well. The waist belt does seem kind of unflattering, but the broad nautical stripes on the bodice did wonders for her!

At the Hello! Awards held last month, Madhoo of the classic 'Roja' fame opted for a Kelly Lounge and Natasha V-neck dress. This grey dress features funky prints and stripes, while the fabric looks quite flattering on the contours of the body. Way to go Madhoo!
I think plunging neck dresses of the right cut can never go wrong when it comes to looking sensuous and smart at the same time. To get my hands on one, I bought this lovely olive green dress online.

The smart shirt dress
Simone Singh was recently spotted at Jaideep Malhotra and Sunil Padwal's Art exhibition in a black shirt dress. Compared to her two average ensembles at earlier events, one in a shiny pullover and another in brown, this black shirt dress was the one which brought out her best. It was a well-matched attire with an over-sized handbag and nude shoes.

There's no denying when it comes to taking a call on who could possibly be the queen of fashion among the new Bollywood celebrities, Sonam Kapoor wins hand down! She was seen recently at the Marie Claire Fashion Awards looking gorgeous in an Elie Saab dress. Sonam looks hot with her attractive figure and height accentuated in this delicate chiffon gown.
