Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week - Spring Summer 2012

Just about anything can be the inspiration behind fashion. As the song by Phil Collins goes, you only have to “look through my eyes” to spot style in the most unusual places. Take a look through the designers and outfits that ruled  at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, 2012. You can thank us later! :)

Understated Elegance

The silver shimmer playing peek-a-boo in this ensemble is just spot on! From the lovely black and white assortment of hues on the translucent garment and the glitter make-up to the silver flats and bishop sleeves, this J J Valaya creation employs some of the most in-vogue trends of the season. Hats off!

Based on this gorgeous outfit, we put together a ready-to-wear ensemble for you.

Carlton London mustard flats(yes, livelier shades are surely in), Jealous 21 black jeggings and United Colors of Benetton white tunic from Myntra.com and a mustard handbag.

A Different Class Altogether

Effortlessly stylish, that is what immediately comes to mind when one looks at this feature by James Ferriera(L) and Nupur Kanoi(R). The ruffled off-shoulder black dress with its dramatic silhouette, the black leggings and the pencil heels complement each other like wine and cheese.

Black United Colors of Benetton stockings, black Femella dress, Catwalk shoes, all from Myntra.

Well, that’s it from your favorite fashion guide. We’ll be back very soon with more. Until then, put those style ideas to good use! We conclude with a collage of other fun looks from the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, 2012... Inspiration, anyone?

Thirsty for more? Check out our other posts on Oscars, GGA…We also promise to come back with a Wills Lifestyle India Fsahion Week, 2012- Part 2, with an even bigger dose of fashion... Watch out!

Seasonal Trends: Flaunt your Flower Power!

It's turned sunny again and it’s time to open the windows and welcome the colours of Spring!

If Spring 2012 runway hits are any indication, floral prints are the way to go! Be it London, New York or Tokyo...flower-inspired designs for tops, pants, bags, footwear, skirts, jackets and more are making their way to all international ramps this year!

Spread some cheer with flowers!
You can start making your breezy Spring statements of fashion with floral dresses which are an all-time hit!
From left to right: Marni, Marc Jacobs, Lela Rose, Peter Pilotto, Peter Som, and Versace
Aquamarine shades are the in-thing right now, like this short Arrow dress. Seems like a good buy, don't you think? This round-neck floral dress has complete lining, pin-tucks on the chest and flares at the waist. Great way to bring out the colours!

Bigger, bolder floral prints are also making their way into Spring 2012. The fabulous London Fashion Week held recently witnessed some of these prints.

This Jonathan Saunders dress sets the stage on fire with a black dress featuring white floral motifs, and accessorised with contrasting coral red accents.

In fact I do have a plunging neck floral dress in olive green by AND in cotton with an attractive splatter print on the fabric.

If girly dresses aren’t exactly your cup of tea, you can opt for bold botanical prints in tops or blouses, slim pants, and other accessories such as floral bags and shoes!

This head-to-toe floral print ensemble was featured at the J.Crew’s Spring presentation at the New York fashion week.

If you feel you can’t pull of a fully floral option, fret not! You can opt for chic tops or blouses with simple flower prints.

Spring and the colour pink are inseparable! I decided to shop online for this set of products I adore!

If you would like to get a bit more experimental, you can look at floral pants, skirts or even shorts.

Designers like Vivienne Tam, Peter Som and Richard Chai Love have made floral pants extremely cool this Spring 2012. Better get your hands on some of these before everyone does!

Accessorise with the power of flowers!

If you haven’t looked beyond clothes to bring out your flower power this Spring, think again! Look uber cool with accessories and shoes which feature hip floral prints. You can choose bags, shoes, scarves or jewellery with floral prints but you do not have to wear them all together! Printed accessories are best teamed with apparel in single tones (solids).

Floral prints can be seen in attractive patterns even in scarves such as this Femella women printed red scarf. You can also include floral embellishments to this collection as featured in this Spice Art ribbon embroidery red clutch

Handbags with floral features were all the rage at the Yukiko Hanai Tokyo Fashion week held recently!

So there’s no time left to waste! Start flaunting florals with the variety of cool options waiting to be worn!
