Riteish and Genelia's Wedding - A Fashion Spin on the Happy Nuptials

Sure Riteish and Genelia got married but we aren't done with them yet... Here we shall do a bit of fashion policing and tell you what looks worked and what did not, as well as what to avoid like the plague and what to embrace like the Holy Grail for your own wedding. Here we go...

The Groom

Let's start with the groom. Anybody can say that Riteish likes to stick to the tried and tested! Sure he looks all happy and dapper on his special day but the oomph is missing. We think Riteish could have experimented a bit more in terms of colors. Deep burgundy, light blue, beige, so many options and Riteish disappoints with a plain old white sherwani with golden embelliishments!

Pretty in Pink

Amrita Rao might have taken some what of a sabbatical from movies but she still knows how to hot up the fashion scene. A pink net saree with golden adornments and embroidery, as well as a golden blouse, now that is what we are talking about!

All Over The Place

We don't know what Ashish Chowdhry and Samita Bangrari were thinking when they wore the outfits they did. Agreed that sunny yellow is in-vogue this fashion season but the pink sequin border on the saree and neon green blouse with bead trimmings does not help her in any way. And Ashish, a bit more daring is what will go a long way for you!

Vision in White

White and silver, a classic combination with a modern twist - that is what best defines Sophie Choudry's salwar suit. The charming jewellery and the gorgeous clutch get our stamp of approval too. Way to go, Sophie!

Don't Try This At Home

Nothing about Jackie Shroff's look is worthy of mention. From the unflattering cut to the wayward yellow chunri, everything about his attire is out of place.

White Serenity

Rhea Pillai all decked up in a sparkling white saree, now that is a treat to the eyes. The open hair and minimalist jewellery work wonders too. Kudos to her for trying and yet not trying... :)

Traditional Doesn't Always Work

Asin decided to go back to her Kerala roots and go with a white silk saree and the works. The saree is pretty in itself but the gold jewellery is a little over the top. The hair tied in a bun doesn't help matters either...

Family Tree

Jaya Bachchan looks resplendant in her silk Kanchivaram saree and Ajay Devgn looks every bit the dashing hero he was in 'Singham'. Kajol on the other hand could do with a few more zesty colors and a broader smile on her face...

Here Comes The Bride

Genelia glows in this saree by Neeta and Nishka Lulla, with beads and sequins, as well as a gold kundan border blouse. A typical Marathi bride indeed, we say that Riteish is lucky to have her...!

Its All About Denim Jeans

Its hard to find a wardrobe that doesn’t contain jeans. Although jeans are the most commonly used and universally loved clothing item of all time, not everyone can hit the nail on the head. For those of you who understand the fine nuances of dressing well, its painful when you see people in jeans that don’t fit well. If you have found a denims that have the perfect fit, great. If you want to find more well fitted denims that you can live in, then read on to know more about how you can look great in this essential piece of clothing. And I can even recommend the best places for you to buy jeans online in India.

Boot-cut Jeans

If you have a pear-shaped body, and most of us Indians do, you would be better off with boot-cut jeans. They tend to take the attention off the hips and thighs and also help you look taller. This classic and refined style that works best with stilettos and semi-formal shirts, it looks good and feels great!

Skinny Jeans

Skinny jeans are a relatively new style but its a hot favorite with both men and women and its here to stay. Well obviously you’d like to attract attention to those well-toned long legs, Skinnies are also a great way of adding more volume to a flat derriere. Skinny jeans work like a charm with funky casual T-shirts & tops. The frosting on the cake though is that skinny jeans can be worn with sneakers and high heels alike.

Trouser Jeans

Trouser jeans are perfect for Friday dressing at work. Replete wit a high waist and flared main body, trouser jeans are your best bet if you are petite. Trouser jeans work well with just about everything. It’s all about loving yourself...  Trouser jeans give you the chance to experiment and you should make them yours if you love this alternative fit. Its definitely is my favorite as I can wear these as trousers with formals and as jeans with casuals!

Capris

Now denim capris are what we call quick fashion. You can just slip them on without having to worry about them being unflattering for your body type and overall appearance. Put them on along with a pair of cool  Nike, Adidas or Converse flip-flops and you are good to go.

Stylish Jeans for 2012

Baggy jeans, wide pant jeans, denim jackets, denim shorts and tapering jeans are back with a bang this year. Long fly jeans are taking over the fashion scene too. As far as jeans colors go, blue in various shades and bleached jeans are in-vogue too. Although you might usually go with your instinct on what looks best with your good old pair of jeans, try these and let us know if you found any such jeans that suit you even better than your old denims. Stay tuned for more fashion updates for 2012. You can also catch me at these accessories and shoe blogs.

<><> <><> <><>
What girl would not want to be draped in sparkling splendor? Even guys can do many things with the right amounts of shimmer here and there. Shimmer or bling is back in a large way in 2012. We here try to present to you the emerging trends in shimmer in a convenient nutshell.

Sheer Radiance

If you aren’t someone who would feel comfortable wearing clothes, footwear or accessories that shimmer, you can keep it subtle yet sexy. Silk organzas in rich bright colors like mild green, soothing blue, white wine, sunny orange and others would be just dandy. Even other fabrics like chiffon and
georgette, with a soft luminous glow would do the trick. For women, it is long flowing gowns,
tops, tunics and dresses with that enchanting sheen. Sequins are hotting it up too. For guys, delicate dashes of glitter here and there, in your T-shirts and jeans would do no harm, they would only enhance your overall appeal. Besides this, it would take a very confident man to carry off the whole shimmer look and so it will only serve to embolden you. Fashionable red carpet events have been taken over by supermodels, actresses and other celebrities dressed in bling and shimmer!  Let me now help you understand how you can make this look work so that you can try it now!
