Lakme India Fashion Week 2011 - Trends for Women

Women have more reasons to smile this fall. If you thought that women already have a lot of choice regarding clothes, now there are more fashion trends that you can flaunt. All this courtesy the Lakme India Fashion Week, 2011. Let us pick up from where we left last time. As part of our ongoing series, here are some hot-off-the-ramp fashion trends of the season.

The Party All Night Look

To achieve this particular look, you must have a halter neck party dress in a combination of black and red. A black and white dress would look super cool too. A beige dress would look ultra elegant. Now we just can’t get enough of these luscious colors, can we? Floral motifs and large chunky prints can kick up a storm. You can let your hair down or tie it up in a loose bun. Some shimmering eye-shadow, stilettos and a trendy clutch would add more appeal.

The Ethereal Princess Look

This look can also be called the ‘desi angel look’ and is our personal favorite. Team a white kurta top, white leggings or capris and a white dupatta. Sandals in white or a blend of brown and white would be great accompaniments too. Large chunky accessories are so in and, you guessed it right, bracelets, earrings and an attractive clutch would only add to the allure.

The Casual Evening Out Look

This look does not take much time to put together and is just great for an impromptu evening out with your friends. All you will need is a casual dress and a matching clutch. Our advice is that you should definitely go for a bold, vivacious color - be it the dress or the accessories. Slip on a pair of sandals of similar hues and you are done. We are confident that you will be the cynosure of all eyes as you step out in style.

The Glamorous Red Carpet Look

This look is chic and sophisticated. The only thing you will need to pull off a show stopping look like this is oodles of confidence! Think long flowing gowns in zesty shades or classy hues that are subtle. Similar themed clutches would be amazing additions too.  Some blush and lip stain or gloss and you can walk in to any place knowing you are at your beautiful best!

The Traditional Indian Diva Look

The Anarkali salwar suit is back and we know that it will look splendid on all you lovely Indian ladies. This look is specially suited for a get together or a festive occasion. Think royal, go for ethnic wear in rich hues and choose fabrics like Georgette, silk, crepe with embroidery and embellishments that enhance the outfit with fine details. Add an exquisite dupatta and light make-up and you might even look better than the bride at the next wedding you go to.

The Indian Street Chic Look

This is your best bet when you are in the mood for some traditional street wear and want a casual yet sophisticated desi look. Team a kurti top with a pair of jeans or loose patiala pants and you will be ready to walk out the door in traditional splendour. Kohlapuri chappals and multi-colored scarves or stoles would be great add-ons too.

Now if your mind isn’t already buzzing with fresh ideas after reading all that, you are not a true blue fashionista! So we suggest that you indulge in some serious shopping and stock up your wardrobe with all these incredible clothing items to style yourself like a model.
